Katie and Stephen have known each other a LONG time! They first met in 7th grade and were even valentines in 8th grade, but went to different high schools and didn’t start dating until senior year. After four years together at University of Maryland and two years starting a life outside of D.C., Stephen popped the question surrounded by their families in Washington DC.
Their wedding took place at the beautiful Evergreen Museum and Library in Baltimore, Maryland. Katie grew up in a home filled with blue and white toile, ginger jars, monograms, and magnolia leaves, and knew that she incorporated those elements into their classic and slightly Southern wedding. Katie and Stephen found beautiful ways to include loved ones who could not be present on their day. Stephen carried his grandfathers handkerchief with him throughout the day, and Katie’s family wore jewelry and cuff links that had a message in her mom’s handwriting. From a tearful first look to their heartfelt ceremony and their incredible dance party, every single detail of their wedding was perfection!
Sharing Katie and Stephen’s wedding today is exciting but a little bittersweet because their wedding was our last of this season! We absolutely LOVED working with these two and we can’t imagine a better way to end a wonderful wedding season.
