We consider it such a blessing to have the opportunity to document the start of so many marriages — a feeling that is significantly deepened when friends ask us to photograph their big day. Davey and I have known Pat and Christine since high school and as we reflect on it, we can’t remember a time when they weren’t “Pat and Christine.” They simply belong together. Their devotion to each other was apparent throughout the entire ceremony and the joy of their relationship overflowed into the atmosphere of their wedding. There was true communion as all of Pat and Christine’s family and friends came together to witness their marriage.

Pat and Christine’s wedding took place at a gorgeous home overlooking the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis on what may have been one of the prettiest days of the year. At most weddings the bride is the one who takes care of most of the details, but Pat is an incredibly talented woodworker and he handmade the driftwood alter, the centerpieces, the cupcake stand and all the driftwood boats (amazing, right!). Christine’s attention to detail and creativity made the wedding that much more extraordinary and unique. We especially loved the guest table — which had oars for the guests to leave a note on and a decorative crab trap for cards with a sign reading, “The Bait-mans’.” Oh, and there was also the “Who Gets the Cake to the Face?” jars that made for some interesting competition during the reception… Pat lost.
