Ever since we took their engagement photos in Baltimore this past spring, we’ve been SO excited about Julia and Adrian’s Eastern Shore wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club! Julia and Adrian are such a sweet couple and it was such an honor to witness two families, and two different cultures coming together!
From the bride:
When they met, Julia was shadowing an Occupational Therapist at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Adrian was a Pharmacology Graduate Student at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. They were just 2.3 miles apart when they both swiped right! They had their first date at Kali’s Court in Fells Point (now the Fells Point Tavern) and spent two years apart while Julia was in Chicago getting her master’s degree in occupational therapy. Adrian secretly hired a photographer and proposed in Rome on the first evening of their three week European adventure together!
Julia and Adrian’s relationship grew stronger in Maryland, where Julia had spent the majority of her childhood. The state of Maryland is full of memories of their “firsts”- their first date, their first kiss, their first house in Baltimore, and their first trip to Ocean City. They chose to get married at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club as it reminded them of all of these “firsts”. The Sunset Ballroom had a perfect view of the Bay Bridge that they crossed on their first trip and of the Chesapeake Bay, an iconic Maryland landmark. Their wedding tied in pieces of Maryland, including the crab bushel for their cards, crab cakes served for dinner, and a crab door knocker from their first home in Baltimore, as well as pieces from Philadelphia where Adrian grew up, including the “LOVE” cake topper and the late-night Philly cheesesteak snacks. Two of their favorite details were the sailboat used for the guest escort cards and the “in memory of” table in the entry hallway.
Julia and Adrian will never forget their tearful personal vows that they read to each other at Saints Peter and Paul Parish. After the ceremony, they were able to get some alone time in the limo on their way back to the venue to take in and enjoy the moment. Their wedding brought people from many different cultures together, including Poland, Chile, Mexico, and the United States. Their reception was full of Polish traditions and songs, as well as new and old Spanish songs, including Chilean boleros. Their dance floor was packed and full of energy the entire night!
