Even though we’re approaching our eighth season as wedding photographers in the Annapolis area, we still get excited every time we have the opportunity to shoot at the United States Naval Academy. It’s filled with classic architecture, beautiful gardens and the most perfect view of downtown Annapolis at sunset. Tyler is a senior at the Naval Academy and Allie grew up spending summers in Annapolis so when we planned their engagement session, it only made sense to incorporate both locations. After spending some time wandering the colorful back streets of downtown Annapolis, we headed over to Academy.

Allie and Tyler actually met online before realizing that one of Allie’s good friends from high school was in Tyler’s company at the Naval Academy. It wasn’t long before they decided to meet up for a coffee date a few weeks later and the rest is history!

As we walked around campus, Allie and Tyler told us about Tyler’s proposal. This past spring while Allie was studying abroad in Ireland, Tyler gave her a journal to write all of her experiences while she was away. When it came time for him to propose, he handed her the journal and inside he had written his own entry: “Today is the day I get to ask the love of my life to be with me forever.” When Allie looked up from the journal, he was in front of her on one knee!

We absolutely loved our time with Allie + Tyler and we can’t wait for their Annapolis waterfront wedding at Whitehall next year!
