A few weeks ago, we met Emily & Arthur in Washington DC for their engagement photos. It could have been such a cold day but somehow we lucked out with a 60 degree, sunny day in January!

Emily and Arthur’s story began back in high school at St. John’s College High School in Washington, DC. After dating for some time, Arthur moved out of state to finish high school and the two went their separate ways. Several years later, the two met up for drinks in Adams Morgan and it was immediately apparent that they were meant to be.

Arthur proposed (on his birthday!) at a restaurant on the Georgetown waterfront. He was hoping to bring Emily outside overlooking the water, but rainy weather caused him to drop down on a knee in the middle of happy hour.

We headed back to the Georgetown waterfront (and the Jefferson Memorial,) for their engagement photos and had so much fun getting to know Emily and Arthur. Their wedding is just a few weeks away and we’re so glad we were able to sneak their session in before the big day!
